Phish has been doing these huge festivals for years. One of my very first concerts when I was 14 was a huge three day fest held on an abandon Air-force base in northern (almost Canada) Maine. The festival featured a half underground city, a giant interactive sculpture that was burned at the end of the weekend (a la burning man), the best fireworks display I've ever seen, and a Guinness world record photo of the most naked people ever. And that was almost 14 years ago!
Also, this isn't the first time they've covered an album for Halloween: past albums include, Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, Talking Heads: Remain in Light, and the Beatles: White Album.
