Run DMC: The Musical
In another unorthodox example of musicians branching out of their comfort zone for new business, Variety reports that Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels have announced plans for a Run DMC inspired Broadway musical. The project is backed by successful film producer Paula Wagner (The Last Samurai, Vanilla Sky), but there’s no word on a production or release date. Also no word on how well old school hip hop will be translated to the stage, but I’d be interested in checking it out.
